New! We’re now delighted to offer Nutrition & Weight Management support.
Our Nutrition & Weight Management service is designed to help those who wish to improve their body composition. Whether your goal is to increase weight, lose body fat or increase muscle mass, knowing your energy balance and target calorie intake is essential for effective progress. This session takes place with our RSPH qualified nutrition specialist and requires 2 x 30 minute appointments.
Step One
We first complete our Standard Health Check measuring your Body Composition, Blood Pressure, Grip Strength, Oxygen Saturation, Resting Heart Rate and Peak Flow. This allows us to understand an overall picture of health and discuss your goals in the context of your current health, ensuring they are the right balance between ambitious and realistic.
Step Two
You’ll then be sent home to complete a 24 Hour Activity and Nutrition recall. You’ll spend time recording both nutritional intake and activity over a 24 hour period. You’ll return this information by email so it can be inputted into our energy balance calculator, determining your overall calorie expenditure on a typical day.
During your body composition test completed in your initial appointment, your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is determined based on your specific data relating to your overall body weight and muscle mass. Comparing the calories you burn at rest to your energy balance results will identify your surplus/deficit position and how that currently aligns to your weight management goals.
Step Three
You’ll come back for your second 30 minute appointment to discuss how small and medium changes changes to diet and lifestyle can positively impact your energy balance and better align to your weight management goals. You’ll spend time having your results explained and working with our RSPH nutrition specialist to set realistic calorie intake targets.
You’ll also have access to the Inbody App for nutrition support. The Inbody app has an entire section dedicated to giving you ideas of how to get the right nutrients required to achieve your weight management goals.
Step Four
It’s not often known that muscle mass is the secret key to keeping your your metabolism active. Our Nutrition & Weight Management Service will provide you with a set of Resistance Bands to take away along with three introductory strength sessions prescribed through the Move+ Health App to help kickstart your strength training regime. Each workout sessions comes with full explanations on how to complete each exercise along with video demonstrations.
